navigating change as a designer

This week's episode is with Geoff Teehan—co-founder of the legendary design agency Teehan+Lax, longtime design leader at Facebook, and now Chief Design Officer at Lightspark.
Some highlights:
How Geoff has navigated multiple cycles of change
What the “parking spot” phase of software looks like
Why Geoff plans to only hire 4 designers at Lightspark
The design backstory behind Geoff’s viral Dialed game
How Geoff brings consumer principles into enterprise design
+ a lot more
📣 FEATURED RESOURCE
Want to become a Founding Designer?
There's one question that I can't stop asking myself:
What if companies apply to talk to you rather than the other way around?
That question is the foundation for the Dive Talent Network (and it's really working).
Right now I’m helping many of my favorite startups hire people who listen to the show 👀
So if you're curious what might be out there (or maybe you're even looking for your next design hire) here’s the link ✌️
🔗 FEATURED RESOURCES
![]() | That Crisp Interface Is Going To DateClean UI used to be a selling point. Now that look is a single prompt away, so we gotta dig deeper as designers to stand out. It's one of the reasons I keep sharing Geoff Teehan's rows.gg (which we talk about in today’s episode). That’s the opposite of minimalism in many ways… but it’s dope. |
![]() | How we built Interfere’s new websiteI've been noticing a trend where designers are skipping static images on their landing pages and building out fully interactive demos instead. This case study walks through how Interfere built theirs (and why the approach is so compelling) 👀 |
🧃 INSPIRATION JUICE
3 things I saved this week
1️⃣ Shrey Gupta’s personal website
A trend I'm loving right now is personal sites built around vertical columns. Shrey's transitions are pretty impressive and the sound design is a nice touch too 🎧

2️⃣ infinite faq
If you somehow missed this viral pattern… definitely take a look because you're about to be seeing it everywhere. Amazing how you can still design something that makes a million people go “oh duh that’s brilliant”.

3️⃣ Horizontal scroll transition
I find the visual language on the new blink.trade site quite fresh and the scroll transitions are well executed too

📻 DIVE RADIO
Sneak peek of my new AI workflow

I built a tool that completely changes the way that I prompt while designing...
It’s literally just a link now every time. And honestly it’s incredible.
If you want a sneak peek I'm giving a little demo of my new workflow on Dive Radio at 4pmEST on Thursday.
You can add it to your calendar here 👇

We’ll also be sharing a bunch of other AI workflows from designers in the community so you won’t want to miss this one.
How much did you enjoy this issue?Never hesitate to reply with feedback too :) |
Thanks for reading! I'm working hard to bring you the best design resources on the planet 🫶
