🤿 aura of inevitability

+ AI interfaces of the future

You can have the greatest design concepts in the world, but none of that matters if they don't make it into production 😬

So this episode is all about how to create an aura of inevitability around your ideas.

It features stories from Webflow, Figma, and early Facebook, 👇

🤝 WITH FRAMER

If you’re tired of reaching for Inter or Geist over and over again I have some good news for you…

The font picker in Framer just got a big time boost with a curated collection of open source fonts 😎

Dozens of new display and text fonts ranging from rounded to monospaced, serifs, sans serifs and Framer has even partnered with Colletttivo to offer the entire collection from their foundry.

It’s just another reason why I’m completely obsessed with Framer and constantly recommending it to people for their next website 👇

🔗 FEATURED RESOURCE

I’ve been designing for ~15 years, but tools like Lovable are just as new to me as someone fresh out of a bootcamp.

AI is leveling the playing field to a degree that we’ve never seen before.

Which is why Ben Blumenrose says it could be younger designers who thrive in this new world👇

🔗 FEATURED RESOURCE

Remember Erik Kennedy? His landing page masterclass was the #1 episode for a long time.

Well he just released an all-new mesh gradient generator and I spent way too much time over the weekend playing with it. They’re beautiful, easily customizable, and you can one-click copy the .svg to Figma.

AI Interfaces of the Future

Remember Raphael Schaad—the creator of Notion Calendar?

Well he hopped on YC’s YouTube channel to break down a few AI Interfaces of the Future and it’s a pretty fun watch :)

One trend that stands out to me is how infinite canvases are quickly becoming the default for AI workflow tools.

🧃 INSPIRATION JUICE

3 things I saved this week

1️⃣ Faded mockup effect

I've seen plenty of similar faded mockup effects, but this one stood out to me for two reasons:

  1. It's rare to fade a high contrast border like this

  2. The warm glow at the corner really adds a lot

The combination of the two made this composition and instant save for me.

2️⃣ Suggestions to write better prompts

There are a lot of explorations happening right now around how to make open-ended chat UIs more approachable.

Most of the ones I see focus on the pre-typing experience though. That's why I like this interaction pattern so much.

Users most likely have a rough concept of what they're hoping to get out of the LLM. And this pattern makes it easy to take that nugget of an idea and turn it into an effective prompt.

3️⃣ Fun info card interaction

I'm seeing this info card component in the bottom left of a lot of dashboards nowadays. And this hover state is a pretty awesome way to take that interaction to the next level.

I shall be stealing using for inspiration.
