🤿 increase your influence

+ 8 themes for AI interfaces in 2025

I’ve interviewed a lot of staff designers to figure out what it takes to have real influence at companies like Shopify, Github, Airbnb, etc.

One thing is clear… if you want to make strategic impact as a designer then you have to get to a place of altitude that allows you to see the bigger picture.

This episode is designed to help you do just that 👇

🤝 JITTER

Look I’m not a motion designer…

But I’m working on a new product right now and I’ve been using Jitter for everything and it’s honestly a cheat code

I’ve been creating Lottie files, micro animations and show reels for Twitter and I didn’t want to use After Effects because it would’ve taken me all day to figure that stuff out…

But there’s no steep learning curve with Jitter. The whole product is super intuitive.

They even have incredible community templates that I’ve been using to jumpstart my project 🚀

So even though I wouldn’t consider myself a motion designer I feel like Jitter gives me super powers…

I mean seriously… I can’t recommend this product enough 👇

8 themes for AI products in 2025

Remember Maheen Sohail, the design lead for Generative AI at Meta?

Well, she just shared a great breakdown of the themes she's excited about for AI design in 2025.

It's full of examples and inspiration so I asked her if I could share it with you 👇

🔗 FEATURED RESOURCE

Investing in your executive presence

If you missed out on this week’s episode about thriving as a staff designer, I shared my key takeaways in an article all about what it takes to invest in your executive presence.

So here are 4 ways to influence and lead like a staff designer 👇

🧃 INSPIRATION JUICE

3 things I saved this week

1️⃣ Game design card UI

I'm making a point to draw more inspiration from Game UI. So I recently saved this design from lootably (designed by Spot). I love how they're able to take a familiar pattern and add subtle details that make it feel more fun and playful.

2️⃣ Adriano’s vertical card hover state

Talk about a satisfying hover state…

I think Adriano crushed it on this drawer interaction. The fact that the image zooms on hover really takes it to the next level.

3️⃣ Folder motif for feature cards

There might be a bit more color going on here than I would comfortably ship, but I thought this folder concept was unique. And maybe it sparks some ideas for you as well!

How much did you enjoy this issue?
