If you're like me you gotta be curious... what's it like designing at OpenAI?

So I’m excited to share today’s episode with you :)

It’s a deep dive with OpenAI’s Head of Product Design, Ian Silber.

👥 FEATURED RESOURCE

Every one of the artifacts I share with my team is now built in code. And this change only happened in ~November which I still find insane 🤯

The problem is feedback has become completely detached from my prototypes.

But I think we finally fixed that with Inflight :)

I'm now adding video + feedback guides to all of my Claude prototypes and it's completely changing how I share my work.

If you’re actively prototyping in code I’d love to show you and hear more about how you work!

🔗 FEATURED RESOURCES

10 principles for fluid UI

Remember Karl Koch who shared tips for new design engineers?

Well he recently released “10 principles for Fluid UI” and it’s a great read.

Ramp’s designer job description

If you want to see where design is headed look at the job descriptions of the companies who are attracting the top talent.

Shane Levine just shared this snippet from Ramp’s new product designer role and it’s worth a look.

Taste isn’t a screenshot

Taste has soaked up too many different meanings. That’s why I love this article from Anton.

My biggest takeaway is that judgement might actually be the differentiating skill for designers (and PMs?) moving forward.

🧃 INSPIRATION JUICE

3 things I saved this week

1️⃣ Button → Menu transition

Not sure if I’ve seen this pattern before but I like it! Unfortunately I forgot to paste the link into my Notion and now it is lost forever 🤦‍♂️ But it’s too good not to sure so if you know who tweeted this lmk.

2️⃣ Pixelated logo carousel

One of those effects where I have 0 clue how this is possible and yet I immediately want to see if Claude can pull it off for my next project.

3️⃣ Mobile App CTA

Fun way to morph the primary CTA when the whole point is to get someone to download an app.

How much did you enjoy this issue?
