🤿 pitch your designs like a pro

+ advanced masking in Figma

Most designers fall into the same trap when presenting their ideas.

So this ~5 min episode breaks down how to pitch your designs like a pro 👇

🤝 WITH DESSN

You know what I’m excited about… Cursor for designers 👀

That’s why I’m all in on Dessn. It’s not another 0-1 tool for side projects and prototypes… it’s a visual interface that gives you access to your company’s existing codebase.

That way you can make updates to things like components or typography and push your designs to production without having to go through an engineer

This is what the future of product design will feel like and you can start experiencing it today 👇

🔗 FEATURED RESOURCE

How to build a truly useful AI product

As I work on Inflight, I’ve thought about Granola a lot.

It’s easily one of my favorite tools right now and a perfect example of what it looks like to build an AI startup in 2025.

So today I’m sharing their Every article: “How to create a truly useful AI product.”

Many of the ideas remind me of “Some (slightly nerdy) thoughts on AI and the future of design tooling” in that building an AI startup today is often an exercise in ignoring per-unit costs.

Today’s cutting-edge models will be affordable commodities in a year or two. Today’s Ferrari’s are tomorrow’s Hondas. Be a Ferrari while you can.

How to elevate craft on your team

I’ve been keeping a log of processes and rituals from today’s top design teams that I want to steal in the future :)

Christophe Tauziet definitely contributed a lot of ideas in last week’s episode about Plaid.

So ICYMI here are 4 ways to elevate craft on your team 👇

🔗 FEATURED RESOURCE

Advanced masking in Figma

Alex Barashkkov’s team makes jaw-dropping websites—the kind that make you scratch your head and wonder how the heck they did that (Neon Database is their latest example).

So today I’m sharing his ~7 min tutorial on masking in Figma (which apparently they do a lot more of than I realized…) 👇

🧃 INSPIRATION JUICE

3 things I saved this week

1️⃣ Fun twist on Linear home page

Too many websites copy Linear directly, but the new Bucket website is a fresh twist that I appreciate.

Instead of a single tilted mockup they use three in a stack. It also creates space for multiple concise value props in the hero section itself.

(thanks Anthony Hobday for pointing this one out)

2️⃣ Slide out modal interaction

Here’s an interaction I haven’t seen before 👀

When you input a routing number in Column a panel slides out to reveal the bank information. I could see this pattern being very valuable (especially when you’re tempted to stack modals in your product).

Definitely going to be making use of this at some point 👏

3️⃣ Fey integrations section

Fey dropped a new landing page so if you haven’t checked it out already you should probably do that :) As expected, it’s a thing of beauty. I saved multiple screenshots to my taste library.

Also get to know Thiago Costa if you haven’t yet ✌️
