🤿 timely truths

how an AI-native design org operates

Last week @jack broke Twitter by saying Block is downsizing because of AI.

And honestly… I wasn’t surprised at all 😬

I had just interviewed Cash App’s Head of Product Design (Cameron Worboys) and the way that team operates is about as AI-native as I’ve ever seen.

Everyone is shipping. They’re obsessed with personalized software. Most process has been cut. They even ditched the engineering/product/design labels 😮

IMO it’s a pretty fascinating glimpse at where this could all be headed…

So I highly encourage listening to this week’s episode. Cam brings the energy but he also drops some timely truths that I think every designer needs to hear.

Some of my favorite highlights:

  • The new archetypes of designers

  • Cam's vision for bespoke software

  • The #1 trait that Cam looks for in design hires

  • How >90% of designers at Cash are shipping PRs

  • What to do if you don't want to become an IC builder

  • How to create an emotional attachment to your product

  • How Cash has replaced the old engineering/product/design triad

🤝 WITH GRANOLA

You know what I’m excited about?

It allows you to connect your AI tools directly to your Granola meeting notes. And as someone who has been vibe coding a lot of tools recently… this release is a big deal.

My meeting notes are some of the most valuable context I have and now I can find specific topics, pull out action items, and get any question answered based on my meeting history.

This is all available today and I’m already building with it like crazy.

🔗 FEATURED RESOURCE

DesignJoy Figma file

Love him or hate him, Brett is one of the most talented visual designers in the game (even if his groups and rectangles stress me out).

He just dropped a client Figma file and it’s definitely worth a scroll 👇

🔗 FEATURED RESOURCE

How Martin built the new Equals website with AI

I’ve always appreciated the Equals brand. So today I want to share a little behind-the-scenes of how their designer Martin used Claude, Cursor, and Figma to build their new website.

He admits that at first he was pretty intimidated by using Claude Code but how after two weeks it became one of his favorite tools 👇

🔗 FEATURED RESOURCE

ui-skills

I recently stumbled across Julien Thibeaut who runs a design engineering studio called Interface Office.

He has a project called “UI Skills” which is a set of skills to polish interfaces built by agents which I bookmarked immediately.

🧃 INSPIRATION JUICE

3 things I saved this week

1️⃣ Jobs carousel

The jobs carousel on the new SIP website is ridiculously good

2️⃣ Prime UI’s feature cards

I love these feature cards on the new Prime UI website. The way the green inner shadow creates the tunnel effect is gorgeous.

3️⃣ Granola how it works cards

Are these Granola cards the sexiest UI in the world? Nope.

But they do a few things that I love:

  1. It’s a single sentence instead of a title + description (that I’ll ignore)

  2. The highlighted words tell the story by themselves

This is about as clear and skimmable as it gets.

btw they are hiring a product designer right now through the Dive Club Talent Network 👀
