+ how to multiply your value in the age of AI

There’s a new design tool called Subframe that’s officially caught my eye 👀

So I asked their co-founder Filip Skrzesinksi to give us a demo and talk through their vision.

I found some of their AI interaction patterns fascinating (especially the way they approach prototyping and contextual edits).

If you’re interested in the future of design tooling then I think you’ll like this episode and you can use the code DIVECLUB to get your first month free to play around on your own 👌

Let me know what you think of this episode! I’m trying something new where I get behind-the-scenes demos of “tomorrow’s tools” 😇

🤝 FRAMER

If you’re working at a startup then I have some good news for you…

Framer just released an incredible offer that gives startups free access to their Launch Plan for a year.

That’s $900 to design and ship your site with Framer which is a total no brainer (I even took advantage of the deal myself).

So definitely don’t miss out on this offer. Click the link to learn more 👇

A guide to creating products that are “Honkish”

If you sampled design Twitter and asked for a list of the top 10 best-designed mobile apps ever I am quite confident that Honk would be on that list.

So I want to share an article from the founder Benji Taylor about what it means to design an app that is “Honkish”

Of or relating to the design philosophy of Honk, a messaging app known for its playfulness, experimentation, and delight.

Benji Taylor

He highlights the small interactions, playful details, and random experiments that made the app so special.

If you’re looking for interaction design inspiration this is a fantastic resource 👇

5 principles to multiply your value as a designer in the age of AI

Remember Kate Syuma the original growth designer at Miro?

Well I asked her to weigh in on a question I see designers ask every day:

“How do I stay valuable in a world of AI where teams are shrinking, expectations are rising, and business impact is everything?”

Here are her 5 principles to multiply your value as a designer in the age of Ai 👇

Using brushes as masks in Figma

Cai shared a neat use case for brushes in Figma Draw that I wanted to highlight here:

→ Make a brush stroke
→ Use it as a mask
→ Change the brush

3 things I saved this week

1️⃣ Aqua Icons

I’m pretty obsessed with these aqua-style icons from Mery 👏 Kind of wish I thought of that for Inflight not gonna lie 😅

2️⃣ Unique card graphic aesthetic

This aesthetic from Artasaka really stood out to me. The colors and shapes are beautiful and I love that each composition includes that consistent sphere style.

3️⃣ Faded white hero background

I’m seeing this curved hero section container pattern a lot recently but I think this is the first time I’ve seen it fade to white at the top which is a nice touch 👌
